Sudden Bite (Ex) During surprise rounds, a hookfang worm’s bite threatens a critical hit on a roll of 18–20.DescriptionThe hookfang is primarily an ambush predator; it swims quickly, but only in brief bursts. When hunting, it covers most of its body under the sands of the ocean floor and remains perfectly still until potential prey swims nearby. When it lunges, its bite is so quick and powerful that its hook-teeth can cut targeted creatures in half. A smaller (but still sizable) variant of the hookfang is the vampire worm, which drains blood from its victims.
